Since the early 1980s, Californian artist Brian Williams (Lustmord) is often credited as being the origin of the dark-ambient sub-genre. His recordings captured in crypts, caves and slaughterhouses, mixed with ultra-low frequencies, generate unsettling journeys into the depths of the abyss. In the meantime, the equally mysterious and no less influential Norwegian artist Geir Jenssen (Biosphere) produces minimalist sound frescoes inspired by distant echoes of glaciers. These two ambient music pioneers unite for the performance Trinity, commissioned by the Unsound festival (Kraków) in collaboration with Communikey (Boulder), on the theme of the first detonation of a nuclear device in the New Mexico desert.
