The musical brainchild of Montreal producer/composer/songwriter Graham Douglas Bertie, Nautiluss finds the now Toronto-based musician clearly breaking away from the brash sounds of his former band Thunderheist to embrace and explore a wider range of techno, house, dubstep, downtempo and anything in between. Having garnered massive buzz with his energetic Thunderheist duo with vocalist Omolola Isis, the group parted ways in 2010 shortly after the acclaimed release of their debut album. Graham has since charted wide-ranging sonic terrain with many projects. Nautiluss, his solo moniker, blurs the lines between organic and synthesized, between UK bass music, techno, and house. He released a collaborative EP in 2010 with Brooklyn bass princess Jubilee, under the name Bassanovva. Then came a standout melancholy EP last September with the UK’s Simon Lord (of Simian/Black Ghosts fame) – a soundtrack of late-night, sinister synths and haunting vocals. His first release with Montreal’s Turbo Recordings is expected for April.
