Born and raised in the Detroit area, Sean began his musical career as a buyer at an import record store at the height of the Detroit techno boom. Sean studied audio engineering, composition, and marketing at The Evergreen State College. In 2003 Sean founded the seminal Decibel Festival in Seattle. With a focus on live electronic music performance, interactive multimedia art, and technology-based education, Decibel solidified itself as one of the premier festivals in North America (25,000 average attendance). In addition to the five-day festival program, Decibel produces over 50 one-off events annually, including showcases at partner festivals Dimensions (Croatia), MUTEK (Montreal) and Movement (Detroit). Sean currently lives in Los Angeles, where he has recently expanded the Decibel brand.
