Catherine St. in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, MTELUS spent previous incarnations as an opera house, playhouse, movie theatre, discotheque and even an ice skating rink! Now a genuine temple of music, it has hosted the biggest artists from home and abroad, from the great Sarah Bernhardt to Adele, from Prince to Lady Gaga. With a capacity of up to 2300 and offering an array of state-of-the-art technical equipment and facilities, MTELUS also welcomes events including launches, galas, conferences, conventions, symposiums and TV tapings.

The Esplanade is a vast outdoor space that connects all of Place des Arts’ show venues. It’s an immense public gathering space at the heart of the Quartier des spectacles. It hosts Montréal’s biggest festivals, cultural activities and popular events year-round: the Festival international de Jazz de Montréal, Les Francofolies, Just for Laughs, Montréal en lumière, and the Grand Marché de Noël at Place des Arts.

L’amphithéâtre du Gesù est une des plus anciennes salles de spectacle à Montréal. Elle fut ouverte le 10 juillet 1865. À l’époque, elle possède près de 1200 places, un plateau tournant et une fosse d’orchestre. Elle a comme vocation première de servir de salle académique au Collège Sainte-Marie, un institut d’enseignement fondé par les jésuites.
