This position reports to the Strategic Development Department

The MUTEK Funding and Administrative Support Officer is responsible for researching, filing, monitoring and reporting on all public funding for the organization in the digital arts, music and creative industries. He/she actively collaborates with the various department heads, under the supervision of the Strategic Development Department, in order to complete MUTEK's financial structures, for regular operations as well as for special projects, within the framework of the Festival, but also for all the punctual initiatives that participate in the consolidation and influence of the organization. He or she will actively participate in the positioning of MUTEK as an essential leader in the support, awareness and promotion of digital creators.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the elaboration, with the General Management and the Strategic Development Department, of the annual financing plan for MUTEK activities;
  • Gather information from various departments for funding applications;
  • Write, revise, edit, and file all of the organization's public funding applications (scripts, schedules, budgets, etc.);
  • Coordinate the filing of applications and reports by involving the necessary people and resources;
  • Ensure regular follow-up with funding agencies throughout the project cycles;
  • Oversee the implementation of public funding partnership agreements within communication tools, online platforms and in the field;
  • Write and submit reports to funds upon completion of projects or at the end of operating funding cycles;
  • Maintain the best possible relationship with funders (program terms and conditions, changes to projects once the grant is received, justification for postponing the report, etc.) ;
  • Master all the eligibility criteria for the various MUTEK public funds;
  • Identify, with various department heads (strategic development, finance, communications, content, etc.), additional public funding opportunities;
  • Constantly monitor the various public funding options to support MUTEK's regular activities and special projects at the municipal, provincial and federal levels;
  • Ensure exemplary organization and archiving of application files;
  • Any other related duties in connection with the position.

Administrative Support:

  • Draft contracts with private and public partners and ensure that all commitments are met with internal teams;
  • Assist in the writing of MUTEK presentation documents and end-of-year reports for the various projects;
  • Track wage subsidies;
  • Provide administrative support to the Branch as required.


  • Participate in relevant industry professional associations;
  • Act as an ambassador for MUTEK, both in professional events and on social platforms.

Profil et connaissances :

  • Interest/sensitivity to digital creation and music;
  • Understanding of the Quebec cultural environment ;
  • Knowledge of the Quebec digital arts and creative industries;
  • Knowledge of the Canadian and international digital arts and creative industries is an asset;
  • Experience in the event industry (festivals) an asset;
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a similar or related position.

Skills required:

  • Excellent command of French (communication and writing);
  • Good communication and writing skills in English;
  • Communication skills in Spanish an asset;
  • Ability to analyze and structure information in complex contexts;
  • Autonomy, initiative, versatility, good management of priorities;
  • Reliability, thoroughness and sense of responsibility for the work delivered;
  • Good ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Work Conditions:

  • Entry in position as soon as possible;
  • Full-time ;
  • One year temporary position with possibility of renewal to a permanent position;
  • Position based in Montreal (telework in the context of pandemic Covid-19);
  • Salary to be discussed according to experience.
