MUTEK Mexico celebrates its 20th anniversary!
After the 15th anniversary of Barcelona and the quarter-century milestone for Montreal, 2024 is a significant year for MUTEK, marked by this third milestone anniversary.
MUTEK Mexico Edition 20, presented by Defender, features an extended edition spanning 2 weeks, from October 7 to 20, across multiple venues in Mexico City. It will include the classic Festival format, a professional segment, and special collaborations.
Canadian artists perform in Mexico
For this edition, 12 projects featuring Québec artists are part of the 77 performances planned for this 20th anniversary.
Innovative performances will be presented by artists such as The Bionic Harpist, returning after a captivating concert in 2022, this time collaborating with the Mexican producer Techno para Dos. Together, they will merge classical music and contemporary electronic sounds through a modular harp.
The electrifying trio composed of Honeydrip, Emma Forgues, and King Shadrock will present Psychotropical, a futuristic dub journey infused with electronic and Jamaican influences. Martin Messier will showcase 1 drop 1000 years, where light and sound create a striking flow of water droplets inspired by the disturbance and balance of current climate phenomena.
Finally, the Haitian-Canadian artist Tati au Miel will perform her latest A/V show, Rêverie, a raw drift combining industrial, drone, noise, intense rhythms, and immersive 360-degree visuals.

A significant Québec delegation in Mexico
At the same time, MUTEK Montréal, in partnership with XN Québec, L'Effet Québec, the Ministry of Culture and Communications, the SODEC, and the Québec General Delegation in Mexico, is coordinating a Québec delegation of artists, studios, producers, creators, distributors, and representatives from cultural organizations and venues specializing in digital creativity.
These participants will take part, from October 15 to 18, in MUTEK PRO Digi Lab, the professional segment of the festival, featuring four days of meetings, exchanges, pitches, personalized B2B sessions, and visits to foster connections with the local creative ecosystem as well as with international professionals present.
