(taxes and fees included)In 2020, Avatar and MUTEK initiated a partnership to offer audio and electronic artists a four-week creative residency in Avatar's studios in Quebec City and a live streaming during MUTEK Montréal.
In this context, in 2020, Alex Tibbitts created a performance where the spatialization of her augmented harp invaded the Satosphere with an immersive work, exploring the relationship between the movement of her body, sound and video, transforming the acoustic concert harp into a "bionic harp", far from the traditional perspectives of the instrument.
In 2021, Ida Toninato and Pierre-Luc Lecours became interested in the dynamics between materials, energies and frequencies. To do so, the new duo used a baritone saxophone, an electric guitar and a modular synthesizer, all staged around a video dialogue between two screens, a visual metaphor for the energetic content and movement of music.
During this Q&A hosted by Frédérique Laliberté, the three artists will present in words their project resulting from this Avatar-MUTEK alliance.
Presented in collaboration with AVATAR.
Activity in French language.
