MUTEK and Zú are pleased to welcome Composite # 28.

COMPOSITE is a bi-monthly networking event dedicated to fostering digital creativity. This initiative was originally conceived by the Conseil des arts de Montréal and each event is organized by a different cultural organization in collaboration with a digital arts company. This event aims to create a recurring meeting space between the art world, research hubs, and digital industries, encouraging creators, artist-run centres, organizations, businesses, and digital professionals to meet and synthesize new ideas. Each COMPOSITE follows the same structure. A Blitz Minute Inspiration introduces the evening: 10 digital innovators are each given one minute to share a project that has recently had an impact on them, inspired them, or touched them. Six keynote presentations follow—each lasting six minutes—of projects selected in advance by the COMPOSITE committee through a call for participants. Participants can come from the fields of art, research, industry or social innovation; the guiding thread between them is their common ability to inspire, stimulate innovation, and awaken in viewers a desire for discovery and exploration. Each event concludes with an evening of networking and discussions, allowing for both presenters and participants to forge new connections and flesh out their respective projects.

For its 22nd edition, the Festival takes place over two weeks, from August 24 to September 5, 2021, in theatres in Montreal, and online, on a customized virtual platform. In addition, from August 24 to September 2, the Festival integrates MUTEK Forum into the architecture of its programming to fuel conversations and meetings around current technological practices and reflections.
