Isabella Salas, originally from Mexico and based in Montreal since 2001, possesses a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production from Concordia University, with a specialization in experimental cinema from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba. With a remarkable two-decade career in film, television, and multimedia, she has gained profound insights into the ever-evolving distribution models within these fields.

In 2018, Isabella expanded her artistic horizons by venturing into the realm of digital art, combining artificial intelligence and immersive digital experiences. As a member of Composite MTL's official selection committee and a two-time nominee of the CIFO-Ars Electronica Award in 2022 and 2023, her work and collaborations have left a significant impact both locally and internationally, with showcases at SAT, MUTEK, MAPP MTL, SPOROBOLE, TOPO and numerous global festivals IN UK, IT, MEX, HON, COL, RU, ESP, FR.

More recently, her passion for addressing the challenges faced by digital artists and enhancing the “discoverability” of digital arts has driven her to establish the International Alliance of Digital Arts, a non-profit organization responsible for the development of smART. Isabella Salas's journey exemplifies the dynamic fusion of traditional and digital artistry, establishing her as a distinctive voice in the contemporary artistic landscape, deeply engaged in the digital arts community.

Alexandre Emond Turcotte is a prominent figure in the world of creative leadership, recognized for his ability to understand the needs of his clients and weave compelling narratives that give rise to distinctive and memorable creative products. As a co-founder of the International Digital Arts Alliance, his experience and skills have played a pivotal role in the organization's success. With over 15 years of experience in design and advertising, including his recent tenure as the head of Creative department in the Montreal and Quebec offices of the global Ogilvy Group, Alexandre has built an enviable reputation in the field of communications. His approach is a harmonious blend of creative finesse, collaborative spirit, and a deep understanding of the clients' objectives. This combination has not only garnered praise locally but has also earned international recognition through various awards and accolades.

As a co-founder of the International Digital Arts Alliance, Alexandre's expertise and guidance will help digital artists in expanding their audiences and elevating the visibility of their work. His natural understanding of the creative process, combined with his business acumen, ensures that artists under his mentorship are not only able to express their unique visions but also to connect with and engage their target audiences effectively on a global scale.

smART: THE COLLECTIVE MEMORY OF THE DIGITAL ARTS

smART is a collaborative, public platform for documenting and listing digital artworks, making it easier for artists to document, discover and promote their work.

A future IMDB for the digital arts, the platform aims to become the largest digital art database to which artists AND institutions can simultaneously contribute, creating a single address for the arts sector and the cultural and creative industries.
