X/Visions
Over three evenings at the Maison symphonique, MUTEK Festival’s X/Visions series presents a constantly evolving environment of contemporary instrumental composition and avant-garde electronica.
The performances were selected to align with the venue’s exceptional acoustics, which encourage an immersive attentiveness to textures, nuances, and the gradual transformations of sound that shape the experience.

The sounds of two essential contemporary composers reverberate through the Maison symphonique for X/Visions 1.
Kara-Lis Coverdale opens a dialogue between piano, organ, and string ensemble, shifting between sonic density and minimalist passages, while Kali Malone develops a meditative suite composed of continuous organ layers and elongated motifs, as part of an experimental culture that explores the instrument's unique acoustic properties and resonance.

The X/Visions 2 evening at the Maison symphonique presents two works dedicated to deep listening.
Tristan Perich and James McVinnie transform the space with a striking organ composition, accompanied by an expanded sound system of 100 speakers on stage. Voices From The Lake, the duo of Donato Dozzy and Neel, then draw the audience into a flow of ambient, atmospheric techno where slow shifts and fluid bass are shaped into evocative soundscapes.

First, Ah! Kosmos and Hainbach merge laboratory equipment and synthesizers to create a melancholic sonic odyssey, transforming noise into living and immersive textures.
Then, to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the album Endless Summer, Christian Fennesz teams up with visual artist Lillevan to breathe new life into this landmark work, evoking memory, fragility, and the emotional resonance of summer landscapes.
