Welcome Address

Canada Council for the Arts

Art connects us—to ideas, to each other and to our shared humanity.

Its impact reaches into every community, deepening our sense of belonging, supporting local economies and enriching daily life across Canada and beyond. This is the power of a vibrant and resilient arts sector. It shapes us, the world around us and our future.

The festival MUTEK brings this promise to life by connecting people with the arts and those who create them. The Canada Council for the Arts is proud to support MUTEK’s 27th edition and congratulates all who made it possible.

Michelle Chawla, Director and CEO of the Canada Council for the Art

Canada Economic Development

Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) is proud to support MUTEK, a pivotal gathering centred around digital creation and the electronic scene in the heart of Montréal. By providing a space where cultural diversity can encounter artistic innovation, this event actively contributes to the metropolis’s profile on the international scene.

This CED funding is a testament to our commitment to boosting tourism so that visitors from home and abroad can appreciate the events and best tourism experiences Montréal has to offer, while also generating economic spin-offs for Quebec.

Supporting festivals such as this one means helping to make Montréal a vital cultural showcase and frontline economic driver.

I wish everyone a great 27th edition, and congratulations to the artists, organizers and volunteers who contribute to MUTEK Montréal’s success and reputation!

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions
