MUTEK hits Vancouver this Friday for a weekend of live electronic performances and digital arts showcases, presented in collaboration with the Vancouver International Film Festival.
On Oct. 2, catch audio-visual sets from famed Detroit electronic duo Dopplereffekt, Montreal-based sound system builder and bass music producer Honeydrip, and a premiere performance from Vancouver’s MIIIA, created in collaboration with visual artist MELT.
Over two days at the VIFF Labs, explore talks, workshops, and masterclasses delving into the convergence of sound, body, and systems, including Honeydrip’s community-oriented sound system practice and a live hardware masterclass with MIIIA.
And discover two interactive digital works from Toronto-based mixed Ojibwe artist Quinn Hopkins and Vancouver-based multimedia artist Ghazal Majidi, featured at this year’s Village Numérique in Montréal.
Presented with the financial support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. Co-presented with Chapel Sound.
