Alexis Langevin-Tétrault is a Montréal-based composer and performance artist known for his audiovisual works that merge custom-built electroacoustic devices, immersive scenography, and visceral physicality. His practice bridges the corporeal and the digital, crafting deeply sensory performances.
His approach centers on the construction of intricate interactive systems that channel sound, movement, and light into a unified dramaturgy. Exploring themes such as grief, resilience, and transformation, his work positions technology as a medium for revealing the unseen and the ineffable. These performances unfold like modern rituals, where sonic intensity and kinetic visuals converge.
Building on previous works like QUADr, Interférences (String Network), and Hypercube (one), Langevin-Tétrault’s latest project, REPLIKAS, features a dynamic metallic totem animated by audio-reactive light and machine learning processes. The result is a compelling audiovisual piece that unfolds with emotional depth and technological precision.
His work has been showcased in over 100 international events, including MUTEK Montréal, Barcelona, and Tokyo, as well as Ars Electronica, ISEA, and Biennale NÉMO. He has received multiple accolades from institutions such as the Destellos Foundation, SOCAN Foundation, and Musiques & Recherches.
