Ash Fure is an American composer and sound artist whose works blur the lines between performance, sculpture, and architecture. Holding a doctorate in composition from Harvard and serving as Associate Professor at Dartmouth College, Fure combines academic rigor with a physical sensitivity to sound, crafting sonic worlds that speak directly to the body.

Her practice distills music to its physical essence: vibration, friction, and the raw materiality of speaker cones. Working closely with architects Adam Fure and Xavi Aguirre, she constructs spatial instruments that immerse audiences in dense, tactile listening environments. Projects like The Force of Things and Hive Rise have transformed venues into trembling ecosystems of sub-bass, light, and suspended matter.

In her recent solo piece ANIMAL, Fure performs with a sheet of polycarbonate atop a rig of upturned subwoofers, using it to filter and throw sound through space. Influenced as much by experimental electronics and the American avant-garde as by the kinetic force of club culture, the work positions listening as an act of somatic intelligence and sensory urgency.

Live A/V | Canadian Premiere

Ash Fure presents ANIMAL, an immersive performance where seismic sub-bass, tactile light, and hyper-detailed noise collide. Driven by acoustic interference and physical intensity, her process fuses custom technologies with raw sonic material to destabilize space and perception through a sensory, body-oriented experience.
