Cheng Daoyuan & Huang WeiTW
Cheng Daoyuan is a Taipei-based post-disciplinary creator whose practice spans experimental sound, video, and installation, exploring philosophical images of opposing forces in coexistence. He is adept at merging high-pressure textures with abstract timbres, shaping ambiguous and distinctive sonic landscapes that oscillate between violence and stillness.
Active in Taiwan’s sound scene since 2015, Cheng’s works have appeared across various international labels and platforms through compilations and remixes. His debut album was reissued as a double CD by the French label WV Sorcerer Productions in 2024, followed by the release of a theatre soundtrack album the following year. In recent years, he has extended his sonic aesthetics into multichannel sound fields, mixed-media installation, and physical theatre.
Based in Taipei, Huang Wei specializes in audio-visual performances and interactive image design. His works are based on his observations of life. Through visual perception, extraordinary images become part of daily life. In his works, he emphasizes perception and sensory experiences, and is devoted to creating algorithm-based performances that combine images and sound.
His works have been presented at major events including the Lacking Sound Festival. In 2021, he was selected for the Taiwan Sound Lab (TSL) residency program. He performed at TUNNEL TOKYO in 2023 and WeSA in South Korea in 2024. Between 2021 and 2024, he presented multiple dome-based immersive works at FUTURE VISION LAB, and in 2024, his works were selected for SAT Fest and the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF). In 2025, he performed at Tekka in Malaysia and the C-LAB Taiwan Sound Festival.

Cheng Daoyuan and Huang Wei present INNERSTAR-01, the first work in their audio-visual series based on the relationship between the universe and consciousness. Drawing on the interactions between interstellar matter and light, the immersive dome performance envelops viewers in a dazzling, illusive atmosphere that encourages them to enter the deepest space in their minds.
