Daniela Huerta creates sonic landscapes where mythology, memory, and altered states of consciousness converge. She also performs under the moniker Baby Vulture, through which she cultivates an eclectic and introspective practice that blends experimental sound art, immersive storytelling, and sound therapy. A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London and trained at the Sound Healing Academy in Cornwall, Huerta is currently continuing her research at the Center for Deep Listening, founded by Pauline Oliveros. Her work navigates the boundary between the real and the imaginary, drawing on ancestral narratives and female archetypes to compose deeply sensorial and transformative pieces.

With SOPLO (Elevator Bath, 2024), her debut solo album, she weaves a hallucinatory sonic tapestry filled with vaporous atmospheres and enigmatic textures. Inspired by two soundtracks created for the films Levitate and Le Fond de la Seine by Colombian artist Iván Argote, the work unfolds as an impressionistic narrative where field recordings, vanishing voices, and ethereal electronic layers intertwine. Collaboration is central to her artistic practice. With Natalia Escobar, she forms KOAXULA, a duo that reclaims cosmogonic visions and feminine myths through sound. She also co-founded HUERTA ENSAMBLE with Concepción Huerta, a project of analog improvisation rooted in magnetic tape and synthesis. Her performances have been presented at MUTEK.MX, CTM Festival, Berghain, Musée d’Orsay, and Centre Pompidou, among others.

Daniela Huerta unveils SOPLO, a hallucinatory suite of spectral synths, environmental recordings, and abstract rhythms. Built from soundtracks for Iván Argote’s films, her meticulous layering and sonic mutations evoke lost memories and shifting temporalities, forging a narrative space where sound, place, and history dissolve into introspective resonance.
