Led by artists Murthovic and Thiruda, Elsewhere in India reimagines the country’s cultural narratives through a hopeful Indofuturist lens. Layering rare colonial-era footage with AI-generated synthetic archives and animated folk art from across the subcontinent, the live performance and video game experience follows the adventures of a ‘cultural cyborg’ built to preserve South Asian heritage and amplify multicultural thinking, bridging India’s rich histories with vibrant speculative futures.

A sound practitioner and ethnomusicological researcher, Murthovic has been instrumental in laying some of the first bricks in India's electronic music subculture. His passion for world music has resonated through radio shows and live acts, exploring genres like House, Techno, Bass, and IDM at clubs and festivals for over two decades.

Known for immersive world-building, Thiruda has played a crucial role in shaping India's electronica scene since 2007. Currently serving as the creative director of Antariksha Studio, which focuses on creating video games that celebrate Indian heritage, he investigates the intersection of generative AI and Indian cultural futures.

Together, the pair have garnered international acclaim, with notable performances at prestigious venues including the BFI London Film Festival, ACMI, Roundhouse London, and Adelaide Fringe in 2023, while also representing India at various music festivals across Germany, UK, Australia, Europe, and Asia.

Set 150 years after India's independence, A Passage to India (2097) transforms the dome into a vibrant Indofuturist cosmos. Murthovic’s electro-classical score blends modular synthesis with South Asian folk sound, while Thiruda’s visuals fuse archival footage, game-engine cinematics, and generative art, rewriting imperial memory and pulling audiences through fractured time into the imagined ruins and renewals of 2097.
