With an insatiable musical curiosity first sparked in online communities, Hong Kong-born, Amsterdam-based producer gyrofield spins the frenzied energy of ’90s drum & bass into idiosyncratic electro for the now.
Injected with everything from elastic pitch wobbles to tangled breakbeats and glitchy free jazz ambience, their productions leap across genre thresholds, landing in lush worlds ripe for reinvention. Emerging from the perpetual discovery is a bouquet of splintered textures and heavyweight bass, shot through with a moody introspection that cuts one layer deeper into machine music. Following standout releases including the 2024 EP These Heavens and output on Objekt’s Kapsela and FABRICLIVE, gyrofield’s presence on the global scene was cemented. Their willingness to rough up musical edges and let intuition take over has earned widespread recognition from BBC 6 Music, Resident Advisor, Mixmag, and DJ Mag, catapulting them onto international club and festival stages from Open Ground in Wuppertal and The White Hotel in Manchester to Dekmantel in Amsterdam.
