Energetic by design, Hot Sleepers is a collaboration between efemme and Hrdvsion, emerging from underground club culture to deliver a fast, dark, and physical style of modular electro grounded in groove, feel, and soul.

Born in Sheffield and now based in Canada, efemme’s work is driven by speed, pressure, and kinetic energy, shaped by years spent digging deep into club music that values both soul and sound quality. She spent five years as a resident at Sheffield’s The Night Kitchen and later became known for high-intensity electro sets across Europe, developing a style that’s moody and unflinching without compromising warmth. Rather than overworking material, her focus is on feel, momentum, and what happens when rhythm is pushed just past comfort.

Hrdvsion (pronounced “hard vision”) is dedicated to electronic music with an experimental streak. Having explored everything from beatless ambient textures to rugged club cuts and pop bootlegs, their practice has gradually shifted into a more focused approach. With releases spanning labels such as Wagon Repair, 20:20 Vision, Rinse, and International Deejay Gigolo, Hrdvsion’s work reflects a long-standing commitment to diversity, resulting in records that are consistently distinctive and widely supported by DJs, always carrying a striking and unusual edge.

Hot Sleepers unites two performers for a rapid-fire exchange of clubby electro rhythms and bubbling acid energy. Inside a shared modular system, efemme and Hrdvsion build, loop, fracture, and restructure patterns in real time, pushing machine limits and exploring a dark, soulful sound shaped by the joyful spontaneity of human play.
