Jenn Mong is a pianist, improviser and educator primarily involved in the performance of contemporary works on the concert stage and collaboration with composers to create and premiere new works. Recently having completed their Masters of Music in Piano Performance at McGill University, Jenn has performed locally in Montréal as well as at the DiMenna Centre in Manhattan, NY, the Darmstadt International Summer Courses in Darmstadt, Germany, Ostrava Days Festival in Czech Republic and the Ent Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs, CO, playing works ranging from solo contemporary repertoire, to experimental audiovisual installations and multimedia operas involving light design, movement and dance, and live electronics.

Based in New York City, Trevor Van de Velde is an experimental composer, sound artist, instrument builder, and creative programmer. His practice is oriented toward exploring the relationship between technology, play, and hybridity through custom-built electronics and mixed-media performative story-telling. He has composed for and worked with a variety ensembles such as JACK Quartet, Chromic Duo, Bergamot Quartet, Tak Ensemble, Ensemble Aksiom, Alarm Will Sound, and Line upon Line. He has also held residencies at NEW INC and the RHIZOME Digital Media Museum.

Pianist Jenn Mong and sound artist Trevor Van de Veld join forces in COCKPIT, an audiovisual performance exploring the link between instrument and machine. Joysticks, MIDI controllers, and flight simulation interfaces transform the piano into a high-stakes command center, where virtuosic piano passages, warped 90s elevator music, and glitch noise evoke the complexities of technological embodiment and mechanized warfare.
