Keon Ju Maverick Lee is a Korean-Canadian electronic drummer, composer, and generative sound artist whose practice explores human-machine improvisation. With a Master’s in computer music from UVic and a Ph.D. in progress at SFU, he designs co-creative AI systems that challenge traditional roles in live performance. His custom agent, featured in Echoes of Synthetic Forest—a 2024 AI Song Contest finalist—exemplifies his responsive, embodied approach to music-making. Keon’s work spans academia and art, with recent projects like ReVerie appearing at Ars Electronica, SIGGRAPH, and SAT. He also teaches sound design and computer music, shaping new intersections between code and rhythm.
Monobor is the alias of Philippe Pasquier, a prolific researcher, composer, and media artist whose creative and scientific work converge in the field of Creative AI. Based in Vancouver, he directs the Metacreation Lab at SFU, where he leads pioneering research on generative systems and co-creative technologies. His art has appeared on six continents at festivals like Ars Electronica, ISEA, and MUTEK, while his AI tools have been integrated into platforms by Steinberg and Ableton. Bridging research, performance, and education, Monobor’s practice reveals AI not as a tool, but as a collaborator in the evolving language of digital art.
VJ Amagi (Jun Yuri) is a Japanese-Canadian audiovisual artist and creative technologist crafting immersive, audio-reactive visuals through real-time systems. Working with TouchDesigner, WebGL, and custom-coded tools, Jun’s performances are visceral, dynamic dialogues between sound and image. With roots in both Canadian and Japanese electronic art scenes, they’ve appeared at events like MusicAcoustica-Hangzhou, Algorave Osaka, and Tokyo Node Fest. As part of the Revival project, Amagi develops visual systems for live AI-human collaborations. Beyond the stage, they’ve contributed to virtual exhibitions and 3D design for projects like Tokyo Art Book Fair, while teaching at MUTEK.jp and Tokyo Demo Fest.
K-Phi-A — Revival
Live A/V | Canadian Premiere
Revival is a real-time collision of human spontaneity and AI-driven sound. Vancouver’s K-PHI-A collective—featuring a drummer, electronic musician, and visual jockey—joins forces with intelligent agents to co-create evolving rhythms and morphing neural visuals. These AI systems don’t just assist, they initiate, respond, and adapt. As beats, textures, and visuals constantly shift, the boundaries between human intent and machine creativity blur, offering a high-voltage glimpse into the future of live performance.
