Safia NihilCA/QC
Samuel Ricciuti, aka D.B.Y. (Dog Bless You), is a queer neo-Canadian artist of French-Italian origin who has been active in electronic music since the late 1990s. Starting out as a hip-hop beatmaker with an MPC2000, he later embraced electronic sounds inspired by Detroit’s UK bass scene and European minimal techno. Founder of the label Chez.Kito.Kat, he’s released numerous albums internationally, including La Science du langage, highlighted by The Wire. He hosts the radio show Vortex/Il Cibo on Montréal’s N10.as and has composed for dance, film, and contemporary art. As a DJ and live performer, he continues to tour globally.
Salima Bouaraour, aka SHADYA, is a DJ, producer, and co-founder of Chez.Kito.Kat Records since 2006. Also a music journalist for Montréal’s PAN M 360 and an advocate for nightlife culture through her work with MTL 24/24, she first entered music as a singer-performer in an electro-clash band for over a decade. Her recent release with French producer SHIZUKA was spotlighted in Underscope’s 2024 top selections. With past performances at MTELUS, SAT, Laylit, Kanal Pompidou, and on Radio Flouka and Radio Nopal, SHADYA now teams up with D.B.Y. for a dynamic live set combining analog and semi-modular synth instrumentation.
