Xicada creates experimental electronic music that evokes imagined worlds, altered states, and rhythmic decay. Her sound merges spectral vocals, eerie textures, and pulsing beats into a haunted landscape—an echo of a cyber-goth future caught in limbo. Exploring themes of perception and the thresholds between consciousness and existence, her forthcoming 2025 album ENGAGING ANIMAL EARTH guides listeners through sonic spaces where spirituality and materialism collide.
Being part of Canada’s experimental underground, Xicada has shared the stage with E-Saggila, Pessimist, Spike Hellis, Dis Fig, Black Ox Orkestar, and Jessica Moss. Her work has been released on Halocline Trance, Foxy Digitalis, Borscht Records, and Aural Tethers. She is also co-founder of Borscht, a label and internet radio station, and an active member of Degeneral Strike, a non-profit collective promoting experimental sound and community-based music.
