Call for Projects 2026

The call for projects for the 27th edition of the MUTEK Montréal Festival, taking place from August 25 to 30, 2026, is now open. This call invites digital artists, electronic musicians, and audiovisual performers to submit their projects for presentation at the festival.


Eligibility

This call is open only to:

  • Artists holding Canadian nationality;
  • Indigenous artists residing in or originating from the unceded territories now known as Canada;
  • Foreign artists residing in Québec or elsewhere in Canada.

International submissions will not be considered.


Types of Projects

  • Live musical performances (unreleased and primarily electronic);
  • Innovative digital audiovisual performances exploring the relationship between image and sound;
  • Projects pushing the boundaries of digital creation or using emerging technologies.

MUTEK focuses on presenting live musical and sound performances. Therefore, DJ mixes will not be accepted.


Submission Guidelines

Applicants are strongly encouraged to include video and/or audio materials demonstrating their performances. The submission deadline is January 31, 2026.

Accessibility

Due to the high number of submissions received, only selected artists will be contacted. MUTEK thanks all applicants for their interest and contribution to the growth of digital art and electronic music in Canada.
