MUTEK appoints a new president and welcomes three new directors to its board of directors.

MUTEK is proud to announce the assignment of Raphaëlle Huysmans as Chair of its Board of Directors and to welcome three new members. While the organization is doing well despite the pandemic and continues to build on the momentum from its 20th anniversary in 2019, this contribution of new expertise and perspectives is timely for us, especially in the development of the 22nd edition of the Festival and the 7th edition of the Forum to be held from August 24 to 29, 2021 in Montreal and online. Note that these new designations allow MUTEK to achieve parity on its board of directors.

Raphaëlle Huysmans (Vice-president, URBANIA)

Raphaëlle Huysmans is passionate about content and media. She has been part of the URBANIA team since 2008, where she was first in charge of several TV and web projects, before becoming a producer in 2009. Among others, she was in charge of the production of the documentary game Fort McMoney (NFB, ARTE), the web series Vérité et conséquences with Louis T (ICI Tou.tv), the interactive magazines URBANIA in La Presse+, and the tv series C'est juste de la TV (ICI ARTV). In 2015, she became partner and vice-president of URBANIA, overseeing the company's original production, content agency, and media activities. She is the recipient of the Prix de la relève Vincent-Gabriele from the Association québécoise de la production médiatique and the Prix de la relève en communication from the Université du Québec à Montréal.

After nearly 4 years as a director, Raphaëlle Huysmans succeeds Paul Arseneault as President. We would like to thank Paul Arseneault who has passed on his knowledge to this position in recent years, and who will remain active on the Board of Directors as Vice-President.
