Joaquina SalgadoAR
Joaquina Salgado (she/her) is a digital artist, VJ, and multimedia designer specializing in 3D world-building and immersive experiences, including VR. In 2018, she graduated from the National University of La Plata (UNLP) as a multimedia designer. She now teaches live image creation at UNLP and the Recoleta Cultural Centre. Her immersive VR experience Lawentuchefe—recently installed at the Kirchner Cultural Centre in Buenos Airies and the Konex Cultural Centre—is inspired by the experiences of the Indigenous women of the Patagonian region of Argentina and their connection with nature.
Appears as part of AMPLIFY D.A.I, an initiative of the British Council in partnership with MUTEK Montréal, MUTEK Buenos Aires, Artlab in Argentina, Oi Futuro in Brazil and Somerset House Studios in the UK. The programme is supported by Canada Council for the Arts, Instituto Nacional de la Música and Fundación Williams.
