Michael Casey (he/him) is Chief Content Officer at CoinDesk, the leading media platform for the blockchain and digital asset community. He writes CoinDesk’s weekly Money Reimagined newsletter and co-hosts the podcast. Casey is also cofounder of Streambed Media, a blockchain-based digital rights management platform. Prior to joining CoinDesk, Casey was a senior lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management and on-staff Senior Advisor at the MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative, where he maintains a pro bono advisory role. Casey spent most of his career as a journalist, including 18 years at Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal, where he was last a senior columnist covering global finance. Casey has published five acclaimed books, including The Truth Machine and The Age of Cryptocurrency, both co-authored with Paul Vigna. He is regularly tapped as a commentator by CNBC, CNN, Fox Business and other broadcasters, and has worked on numerous documentaries dealing with themes of technological change and digital culture. Casey is a graduate of the University of Western Australia and has higher degrees from Cornell University and Curtin University.
