Monica Lopez De Victoria (she/her) is a Miami based multi-disciplinary visual artist and choreographer in Artistic Swimming. Lopez De Victoria is a Puerto Rican Latinx and German/Swedish American who graduated from Florida International University with a BFA in Photography/Video in 2002. Monica's work has blended visual art, movement, aquatics, and interactive technology for two decades weaving these art forms through her cultural backgrounds and the geometry of emotions. Her artwork has toured internationally in exhibition and has been seen and written about in The Guardian, the New York Times, Vogue Italia, and many more. Lopez De Victoria has participated in residencies in Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, the Everglades National Park, and has recently been supported by the Bauhaus Foundation for residency projects in Dessau, Germany (2018) Seoul, South Korea (2019) with the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Korea.
