Estelle Schorpp & charline dally^FR/QC+FR/QC

Estelle Schorpp is a French-born, Montréal-based sound artist and composer. Her multidisciplinary sonic practice has explored algorithmic composition, sound installation, interactive systems and experimental electronic music. Balancing rigor and precision with intuition and emotional sensitivity, her work navigates the tensions between minimalism and density, structure and expressivity, intellectual inquiry and sensual impact.

Guided by deep listening and experimentation, she is particularly interested in the physical qualities of sound and how sonic structures can generate intimate perceptual and emotional experiences. In 2024, her first album In My Ears (for Maryanne) was released on Los Angeles-based label LINE. Her work has been presented internationally at festivals such as La Biennale di Venezia (IT), Ars Electronica (AT), MUTEK (MX, CA, AR, JP), and Norberg Festival (SE).

charline dally lives and works in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal. Graduated from Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains, their practice explores analogue video signals generated by electric currents in order to transform personal and scientific archival images.

Working with video, installation, sculpture, print and audiovisual performance, dally explores water both as a vital source of life and as a means of repair. Their films and installations have been exhibited at Musée d’Art de Joliette and PHI Foundation, in addition to Images Festival (Toronto), CTM Festival (Berlin), Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (Montréal), and Ann Arbor Film Festival (MI). They presented their most recent solo exhibitions at Paris's Chapelle XIV, Rimouski’s Caravansérail, and Montréal’s Diagonale.

Born from the collaboration between sound artist Estelle Schorpp and video artist charline dally, dreamachine simulates the drifting sensation of gazing out a train window. Built from archival footage recorded on DV cassettes aboard the Shinkansen and Hong Kong railways, the piece folds together fluid landscapes of analog video feedback, field recordings and shimmering drone textures modulated by algorithmic process, suspending audiences between motion and reverie.
