The 8th edition of MUTEK Argentina runs from October 7 to 11 in Buenos Aires, bringing together creators from the country’s vibrant digital landscape alongside a host of internationally acclaimed artists.
Among them are Dana Ruh, NVST, and Satoshi Tomiie, who stopped by MUTEK Montréal and AVANT MUTEK in Toronto earlier this year, and now head to Argentina with live sets spanning house, breakbeat, techno, and more.
Across large-scale audio-visual performances, live music, immersive experiences, and more, MUTEK Argentina offers an up-close look at the innovative practices and approaches driving digital creation in Argentina, Québec, and beyond.
Myriam Bleau Presents Hypermobility
Montréal-based digital artist Myriam Bleau will present Hypermobility, a work examining the implications of life in constant motion through sculptural laser patterns generated with sound.
Bleau is known for her use of physicality in live electronic performance, often transforming bodily movement into sound, light, and image using sensors and electronic devices as extensions of her body. In Hypermobility, she crafts a contemplative audiovisual work using volumetric laser projections extended above the audience. Rapidly shifting light patterns evoke both extreme physical flexibility and the environmental costs associated with frequent travel.
The performance will take place at the festival’s opening at Teatro San Martín on October 7 as part of the A/Visions program.
MUTEK Montréal continues its mission to showcase Québec and Canadian artists on the international stage, which is made possible with the financial support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
