MUTEK Barcelona announces the return of its Symposium, with a strong presence from Québec

MUTEK Montréal is pleased to share details of the Professional Symposium taking place at MUTEK Barcelona from April 10 to 12. This 4th edition is shaping up to be a landmark event for actors in music, digital art, and digital creativity, under the theme Nurturing Networks in Digital Creativity.

Three days of enriching activities are on the agenda, including panels, conferences, workshops, and networking sessions, all aimed at fostering dialogue on the importance of networks for a supportive digital creative ecosystem.

Jointly organized by MUTEK Montréal and MUTEK Barcelona, the programming emphasizes the importance of networks in the evolution of digital creativity and the role of cultural diplomacy. This event is an exceptional opportunity to highlight avant-garde initiatives from Québec on the international stage.


On the first day, Martin Messier and DATUM CUT will kick off the ‘Sculpted With Light & Sound’ series, exploring the relationships between space, light, and sound, as part of the festival's fifteenth anniversary.

On April 11, the day will be dedicated to celebrating innovative projects that define the global landscape of digital creativity. Organizations, studios, and artists from Québec and Catalonia will meet in a B2B format, through short presentations designed to inspire and encourage future collaborations.

Among the conference highlights, Sarah Mackenzie, Creative Director of MUTEK Forum, will engage in a dialogue with Ludovica Michelin on MUTEK 2024: Reflecting on Anniversaries and Future Directions in Digital Creativity, unveiling the intricacies of the cultural collaboration network established by MUTEK.

The Symposium will conclude with a roundtable titled Fest Forward: Forging New Horizons for Festivals, featuring renowned speakers and moderated by Sarah Mackenzie, promising rich exchanges on the future of festivals in the digital ecosystem.
