For its residency on Rinse France, MUTEK presents Toronto duo TUSH, made up of Kamilah Apong and Jamie Kidd.
Rooted in the legacy of the Black, queer, and female-led scenes that have shaped club culture, their music embodies vulnerability, sweat, and solidarity. Moving from 70s live disco to house, UK garage, and more contemporary electronic sounds, TUSH continues to explore new textures while keeping community at the heart of their practice.
With HEAVY WEATHER, the duo explores the paradoxes of making art in the era of late capitalism—torn between the desire for recognition and the pursuit of authenticity. In an improvised live set blending machines, vocals, and bass, the duo celebrates the legacy of Black women in dance music and invites the audience to fully immerse themselves in the performance.
