In its ongoing commitment to strengthen governance and enrich its development perspectives, MUTEK is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Catherine Lareau and Isabelle Kalar.

For nearly a decade, Catherine Lareau has been supporting the growth of Montréal-based companies, leveraging her expertise in business development, strategy, and value creation. As Director of Development at Mirari, a multidisciplinary creative studio, she leads strategic growth planning, the development of key partnerships, and international outreach. She has also initiated structuring programs for creative enterprises, such as le Cabinet créatif, designed to foster collaboration and support within the cultural and innovation sectors. With a cross-sector approach, Catherine acts as a catalyst for opportunity and a driver of growth, bringing together stakeholders from cultural, institutional, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. She champions an impact-driven perspective, focused on sustainable outcomes and tangible value creation — both locally and internationally.

Isabelle Kalar is a lawyer and trademark agent in Fasken's Intellectual Property and Technology, Media and Telecommunications Group. She advises and represents clients in many areas relating to copyright, trademark, media law and defamation. Before practising law, Isabelle studied communications with a focus on cultural and media production strategies at UQAM.

Through these appointments, MUTEK reaffirms its commitment to diversifying the profiles and expertise represented on its Board of Directors, with the aim of better anticipating developments across the fields of digital arts and electronic music. We warmly welcome Catherine and Isabelle and look forward to collaborating with them in shaping the future of MUTEK.
