Able to expand rhythmic space and drone time, notoriously plugged in Montréal DJ and longtime radio producer and host of CKUT 90.3FM’s Modular Systems, Cyan, a.k.a. Corina MacDonald, goes live with her reverberant, brightly toned dub techno project CMD. A founding member of music collectives Phoniq and Women On Wax MTL and a past member of the editorial team of the digital arts journal Vague Terrain, MacDonald imparts her wide ranging influences and rhythmic obsessions on CMD’s self released Memory Junction EP and across her recent Elementals EP, a shimmeringly atmospheric reverie set deeply in dub, recently released on noted Montréal imprint Fur Trade Recordings.
