Cat Bluemke (she/her) is an artist working with game design, performance, expanded reality, and new media. Her work explores the role of technology in contemporary labour relations. In 2018, she graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with an MFA in Design for Emerging Technologies. Exhibiting across Canada and internationally, she has shown recently with Rhizome and the New Museum’s virtual reality platform and the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale with the American Pavilion. Her practice has been featured in Hyperallergic, Canadian Art, 032c, and many more.

Bluemke is involved in several collaborative art and curatorial collectives. A core member of Tough Guy Mountain since 2013, she leads the 2D, 3D, and graphic work for the collective. She co-founded SpekWork Studio with her partner Jonathan Carroll in 2018, which develops and publishes the duo’s software projects along with select client work. Since 2021, she has been a co-curator of Ender Gallery, a Minecraft artist residency and exhibition series.
