x/oCA
x/o is Veron Xio (they/she/he), a Vietnamese-Canadian music producer and interdisciplinary artist. Since 2017, they have released singles and remixes with forward thinking labels such as PTP, Eternal Dragonz, Objects Limited, and more. x/o has presented work internationally across the world and most recently performed live audiovisual sets at 3HD, New Forms Festival, and MUTEK Montréal. In 2019, x/o was one of eleven artists selected to participate in the AMPLIFY residency at Somerset House Studios in London, U.K. In the same year, they were also one of twenty emerging Canadian artists selected to participate in the Red Bull Bass Camp Calgary at the National Music Centre. x/o is a founding member and co-producer of s.M.i.L.e., a new music events collective in Vancouver. They are currently preparing their debut album/sequel soundtrack, set to release fall 2021.
AMPLIFY D.A.I is an initiative of the British Council in partnership with MUTEK Montréal, MUTEK Buenos Aires, Artlab in Argentina, Oi Futuro in Brazil and Somerset House Studios in the UK. The programme is supported by Canada Council for the Arts, Instituto Nacional de la Música and Fundación Williams.
