Since their beginning in 2020, Montréal-based producer and DJ dustbunny has been exploring the emotional extremes of desire, belonging, and experimental sound. First emerging with a glittery tenderness, their early work was steeped in softness and feelings of rebirth; the sonic manifestation of finally feeling seen. Over time, their sound has evolved into something harsher and more deliberate, reaching toward both emotional release and fierce retaliation. Their forthcoming project, Sweet, represents a turning point in their practice, shifting from bright, crystalline textures toward a darker complexity.
Often blending live vocals, harp, and real-time sound design, dustbunny’s live performances move fluidly between beauty and chaos. Their DJ sets are notoriously chaotic and euphoric, weaving together pop edits, industrial breakdowns, and devastating drops on stages shared with artists and collectives like TDJ, Snow Strippers, KAVARI, Petal Supply, umru, Galen Tipton, and 909 Worldwide.
In 2021, they co-founded Dollhouse, an event series that grew from skatepark renegade to packed-out club nights. Equally dedicated to building community as to creating sound, dustbunny has been instrumental in shaping spaces across queer and trans communities, building living ecosystems designed to foster connection, dialogue, and mutual transformation between artists and audiences.
dustbunny – Sweet
Live A/V | Canadian premiere
Through glitch-pop, deconstructed club, and ambient textures, the sounds of dustbunny’s Sweet open a window into their world. Performing live, the Montréal-based artist transforms gesture into sound with harp instrumentation, vocals and motion-sensor technology, unlocking an emotional archive of love letters and ransom notes reflecting on devotion, power, and desire.
