France Jobin is a sound/installation / artist, composer, and curator residing in Montreal, whose audio art, qualified as “sound-sculpture", reveals a minimalist approach to complex sound environments where analog and digital intersect. Her installations incorporate both musical and visual elements inspired by the architecture of physical spaces. Her work can be “experienced” internationally in a variety of unconventional spaces and new technology festivals. While her music often makes use of restraint and limit, she isn't one to shy away from extremes. Her skillful interplay between highs and lows, louds and softs, creates an intricate narrative, which stretches the listener's perception and continually refocuses attention.

Born in Germany in 1977, Markus Heckmann studied Media-technology at the University of Ilmenau and the Bauhaus University in Weimar before obtaining in 2006 the position of Technical Director at Derivative, the maker of TouchDesigner, in Toronto. Heckmann's personal works have always tended to combine the aesthetic aspects of generative computer graphics with the almost physical aspects of light. Apart from producing visuals and installations for artists like Carsten Nicolai or applications to control the KineticLights of WHITEvoid, he occasionally takes care of visual stimuli at techno events under the nickname Wüstenarchitekten.

Entanglement is a dazzling work that transforms quantum physics theories into a swooping sensorial experience. The complex notions addressed in the performance are translated into a visually and sonically stunning experience guided by science, technology, and the sensitivity needed to illustrate what cannot be visualized. The viewer contemplates these revolving realms, composed of intricate graphics and audio.

This performance takes place on August 26 as part of the Satosphère series in collaboration with the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT]: more information
