Toronto-based duo TUSH (Kamilah Apong and Jamie Kidd) are redefining modern dance music with a sound that fuses the raw emotion of disco with the grit of underground house. Since their 2021 debut album Fantast, the pair has gained global attention, collaborating with artists like Matthew Herbert and Jazzanova, while building a reputation for live shows that dissolve the barrier between audience and performer.

Rooted in the rich lineage of Black, queer, and women-led dance floors, TUSH's music channels vulnerability, groove, and resistance. From ‘70s-inspired live disco to UK garage and deep house, their sound continues to evolve—always anchored in community and emotion. Beyond the stage, Apong leads youth arts platform LIL SIS, while Kidd co-founded inclusive event collective Box of Kittens.

Their forthcoming 2025 album HEAVY WEATHER, written off-grid in rural Canada, marks their most honest work yet—shaped by resilience, climate chaos, and creative liberation. Whether performing at Pride, Electric Island, TIFF or underground stations like Balamii, TUSH bring a spirit of joy, sweat, and soul to every set, continuing to carve out space for dance music that feels as communal as it is cathartic.

TUSHHEAVY WEATHER

In HEAVY WEATHER, TUSH navigates the contradictions of artistry under late capitalism with sweat, soul, and 4/4 grooves. Fusing hardware, live vocals, and bass with radical honesty, this improvised set blends house, disco, and real-time audience play—honouring the legacy of Black women in dance music while pushing the form forward.
