Alexandre Sasset-Blouin is a composer and sound artist from Montreal (Tiohtià:ke). Introduced to electronic music through the local techno scene, his explorations gradually led him toward the experimental dimensions of music and sound. His works and installations investigate acoustic and synthetic sounds transformed through transduction, amplification, and feedback. He designs DIY devices combining analog and digital technologies with recycled materials to probe the transitions between the physical, electronic, and digital realms. As a composer and performer, he shapes harsh, noisy, and distorted sounds into composed and organized forms, often created for collaborative performances.
Jean-Philippe Jullin is a sound and audiovisual artist based in Montreal (Tiohtià:ke). His work lies at the intersection of art and technology, with a focus on interactive and generative systems in which sound and image modulate each other in real time. His practice combines performance, installation, and research-creation, drawing on the use of sensors, programming, and machine learning. His research and artistic practice have been supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec Société et culture (FRQSC). His works and compositions have received recognition, notably through the Prix Marcelle-Deschênes (2024), and have been highlighted by Musicworks magazine and the JTTP competition.
pliq – Fixate
Live A/V | World premiere
In the uneasy space between vulnerability and control, pliq’s Fixate navigates the cognitive slide from fascination to obsession. A projected eye entangled in a feedback loop of sound, gesture, and image becomes an investigative site; a tightrope walk where the gaze risks corroding into something objectifying and dominating.
TW: This performance uses intense sound and strobe lighting.
