Sofie Birch DKNatural Disappearances

In Natural Disappearances Sofie Birch presents an improvised live performance in collaboration with video artist Dalin Waldo. With a simple setup of hardware, Sofie Birch explores the subtleness of loops fading unnoticeable into silence while constantly creating space for new loops and movements to take over. Placed in a plant store in the middle of Copenhagen, the theme of disappearance and new beginnings seems to resonate with the lively environment of the plants surrounding her.

Dalin Waldo has a floating yet headstrong approach to create authentic and quirky visual environments always pushing limits with humor and kindness. In this collaborating performance their spells come together to create an elastic and organic vacuum of pure improvisation and magic, taking us into an imaginary jungle of repetition.

Presented by Insomnia as part of the SHAPE Platform, funded by Creative Europe.
