RACINE (CA)
EXPÉRIENCE 2 :: GLITTERING NEU-STALGIA
Friday, May 29 - Parterre du Quartier des spectacles
Drawn to lo fi, apprehensive tempos and gently billowing beat patterns, Montréaler Julien Racine describes his creative process as “soundtrack photography,” sampling bits and bites from his stash of vinyl for his one man, atmospheric assembly, juxtaposing analog sounds with digital processing. A member of the buzzed about Ottawa/Gatineau Fau Mardi A/V collective, which has mobilized a local community of like minded, experimentation prone electronic producers, DJs and VJs, Racine has also shared the Fau Mardi bill with fellow MUTEK performer Simon Labelle (Réservoir, MacGuffin). On the heels of his celestial, independently released EP, Hi Fidelity (mastered by Pheek), Racine has opened MUTEK’s Friday EXPÉRIENCE program with a live set of textural ambience, techno and downtempo.
Mastered by LANDR.
