MUTEKLIVE: Honeydrip b2b MIASALAV on Rinse France

For its residency on Rinse France, MUTEK presents an excerpt from the b2b set by Honeydrip and MIASALAV, two Montréal-based Canadian DJs and producers, recorded during the very first Ether event in the basement of Bain Mathieu.

The intention behind this mix was to capture the chemistry of their shared set at a pivotal moment in the night—around 5 a.m.—when they shifted toward deeper, grittier, and more instinctive textures, marking a sonic turn that reflects their complementary approaches.

The set moves fluidly through bass music, dub, techno, and club, highlighting femme and queer voices from both the local and international scenes, and grounding the mix in the collective energy that defines alternative dance spaces.

Honeydrip is a notable figure in Montréal’s electronic underground, known for her dub- and dancehall-inspired productions, her deep engagement with sound system culture, and her educational work with marginalized communities. She runs the Imposta sound system and has performed across Canada, Jamaica, and beyond.

Recently relocated to Montréal, MIASALAV has quickly emerged as one of the most dynamic selectors to come out of Toronto. With roots in hip-hop dance, she brings a distinct rhythmic intensity to her DJ sets. She is the co-founder of Ether and is also active as a producer and event curator.
