News from the MUTEK Network
2022 Saw the return of several international editions of the Festival, starting with MUTEK ES. After fourteen years of flourishing activity, the Catalan branch of our network will take a sabbatical year in 2023 before celebrating its fifteenth anniversary. During this period of rest, reflection and restructuring, keep an eye on the MUTEK ES communications to find out about the concerts, educational activities and exhibitions planned in the run-up to the 15th anniversary!
Earlier this year in the United Arab Emirates, MUTEK AE signaled its comeback as a platform to promote digital arts and electronic music around the world. In partnership with Alserkal Avenue, the new venue and headquarters of the Arab structure and on the occasion of the Quoz Arts Fest, MUTEK AE presented the world premiere of PHARUS by Amir B. Ash. This installation aims to raise awareness of climate change by visualizing local climate data from 1959 to 2022 through sounds and lights with an interactive touch. This reactivation of a local branch encourages us to develop new projects internationally in order to spread our culture and our artists around the world.
Get ready, because 2024 will be a real commemorative year for us: in addition to the 25th anniversary of MUTEK Montréal, Mexico City will celebrate its 20th edition while Barcelona will be back for its 15th anniversary. We are looking forward to celebrating digital creativity and all facets of electronic music together, and we hope to see you at the various MUTEK editions around the world!
