Now based in Montréal, Chicago’s prodigal son Billy Dalessandro has been revolutionizing electronic music for nearly two decades. A classically trained pianist armed with a keen knowledge of modern music technology, he perfected the art of creating tracks both moving and hard-hitting. Forever seeking an elegant approach to everything he pursues, his works span the entire spectrum of electronic music, from scathing acid and mind-blowing techno to experimental dub and melodic breakbeats. Himself co-owner of Chicago’s Siteholder Records, he signed nine albums and a myriad of EPs on famed labels such as Force Inc., Resopal, Harthouse, Soniculture and Archipel. Dalessandro can often be seen behind the decks of clubs in Berlin, London, Lisbon and Barcelona, but invariably comes home to headline some of Montréal’s most famous events, such as Piknic Électronik and MUTEK.
The Delta Code
Developed alongside the album that bears its name, The Delta Code plunges audiences into the furthest depths of electronic music. Featuring cutting-edge production and sampling techniques and using both classic analog and modern modular equipment, the performance will transport festival-goers through a landscape of emotional peaks and valleys. Raw, uncut and essentially unpredictable, The Delta Code tells a tale that is energetic, highly introspective and perhaps even naively hostile.
