Quebec digital arts travel to Rewire in the Netherlands.
From April 4th to 7th, 2024, the international festival Rewire will take place in The Hague. As a festival of adventurous music, Rewire is dedicated to the discovery and exploration of musical and visual genres, inviting international artists and professionals with the ambition of presenting innovative creations.
With an artistic vision close to MUTEK, this collaboration continues this year, following the aim of solidifying an international agreement to promote Quebec's digital and audiovisual creation. Four Quebecois artists will participate in this new edition of Rewire:
Carmen Jaci CA/NL | Liliane Chlela LB/QC | Martin Messier CA/QC | Myriam Bleau CA/QC
Carmen Jaci, who participated in the 24th edition of MUTEK Montreal alongside Matthew Schoen, will present this year the performance from her album Happy Child at Rewire.
Liliane Chlela is one of the most versatile producers and musicians from the Middle East, Western Asia, and North Africa.
Martin Messier develops audiovisual devices and performances, and will showcase his project 1 drop 1000 years at Rewire and MUTEK XXV after its world premiere last August in Montreal.
Myriam Bleau, who has performed at various MUTEK stages worldwide, will be in the Netherlands this time with her project Hypermobility. She will also perform at MUTEK XXV in August 2024 for the North American premiere of her latest creation conceived with Nien Tzu Weng.
Following the numerous collaborations maintained by MUTEK internationally, such as cross-programming for the 15th anniversary of our branch in Barcelona, MUTEK Montreal is proud to support these artists and showcase Quebec talents worldwide.
This year, MUTEK Montreal will celebrate 25 years of creative innovation with an anniversary edition from August 20th to 25th.
This co-presentation is made possible with the financial support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
