30 Years of Memory in Motion
Since 1996, the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) has been exploring the connections between creativity, technology, and community, offering space for collective imagination, experimentation, and reinvention.
For it's 30th year, the Montréal institution has unveiled a wave of events true to its innovative spirit.
SAT x MUTEK - Alva Noto & Myriam Bleau: May 8
On May 8, MUTEK joins the festivities with the arrival of Alva Noto at Espace SAT, marking the German artist’s return to Canada for the first time in over a decade. Performing HYBR:ID UNI PARA, the minimal techno and IDM mainstay explores the interplay between light, sound, and human perception. Montréal-based artist Myriam Bleau starts the night off with a performance of Hypermobility, an audiovisual work investigating the nature of frequent travel and its environmental implications.

Futurs Antérieurs: June 5 and 6
The celebrations continue with the SAT’s presentation of Futurs Antérieurs, a complete transformation of its three floors on June 5 and 6. Featuring over 30 local and international artists, the high-calibre programming ranges from explorations in techno and ambient music to immersive live audiovisual performances, bridging living memory and futures yet to be invented. On the lineup are past and present MUTEK performers Nahash, France Jobin & Markus Heckmann, Honeydrip, Jacques Greene, Martyn Bootyspoon, Paurro, Al11z, Alex Vlair, and BunBun.

Full programming for the SAT’s 30th anniversary is available on their website. Tickets for the various events are on sale now.
