For her residency on Rinse France, MUTEK presents Xicada, an experimental electronic music composer active in Canada.
Her practice explores imaginary worlds, altered states, and shifting plays of rhythm and texture. Spectral voices, dark pulses, and unsettling atmospheres form a haunted soundscape, set in a liminal space with cyber-gothic undertones.
Her album ENGAGING ANIMAL EARTH moves through in-between states of consciousness, where spirituality and materialism collide in a fluid, introspective sonic odyssey.
Alongside her music, Xicada is involved in independent, community-based platforms for dissemination, actively contributing to the development and visibility of experimental practices.
