Rhythmic, radiant, and resolutely revolutionary, Madame Gandhi creates electronic music that pulses with both purpose and percussion. An artist, producer, drummer, and activist, Gandhi first captured global attention in 2015 after running the London Marathon while free-bleeding to protest menstrual stigma. That defiant act launched not just a public conversation, but a singular music career centered on empowerment, sustainability, and sonic joy. With a background touring as a drummer for M.I.A., Thievery Corporation, and Kehlani, Gandhi transitioned from behind the kit to the front of the stage, blending activism with artistry. Her signature sound—deeply rooted in her love for global percussion, from Bhangra to Afro house—meets shimmering electronic textures and mantra-like vocals that affirm personal power and collective liberation. She sings, drums, DJs, and MCs live, offering high-energy performances charged with community, catharsis, and groove.

Her latest work merges science and spirit: during a research trip to Antarctica while completing a master’s degree in Music, Science and Technology at Stanford, she recorded glacial melt sounds that now feature in her single In Purpose. Crediting “NATURE” as an artist in the track’s royalties through Earth Percent’s Sounds Right initiative, Gandhi fuses environmental urgency with creative innovation. Her music doesn’t just sound good—it means something. Awarded the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Abe Olman Prize in 2023 and winner of SXSW’s Jury Award for her music video “Waiting For Me,” Gandhi continues to make waves with work that is as emotionally resonant as it is rhythmically powerful. Her “short-form albums” like Vibrations carry the spiritual and political charge of deeply personal songwriting, built in collaboration with longtime producers and friends.
